Commitment to Privacy
At Kale Mollon Copywriting, respecting privacy is an important part of my commitment to my clients.
My commitment to privacy is reflected in The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code, which has been developed to comply with the relevant portions of the Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act (Canada). In this respect, The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code governs my behaviour with respect to the collection, use and disclosure of my clients' personal information.
I have also developed The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Protection Pledge to explain why I collect personal information, how I use personal information and how I keep such information protected. A copy of The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Protection Pledge is being made available to all of my clients.
THE KALE MOLLON COPYWRITING PRIVACY PROTECTION PLEDGE
At Kale Mollon Copywriting, I respect your privacy. That is why I have developed The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code, the objective of which is to specify Kale Mollon Copywriting's guidelines for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal information.
The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code was developed to comply with the relevant portions of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada). I have drafted The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code to facilitate my compliance with this legislation and to demonstrate my commitment to protecting your personal information.
I have also developed The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Protection Pledge. I want you to understand the purposes for which I collect personal information. I also want to make certain that I have your consent to continue to collect, use and disclose your personal information for those purposes.
The following is a brief synopsis of my privacy practices:
Why do I need to collect your personal information?
If you are a Kale Mollon Copywriting client, I may have collected some basic information about you. I respect your privacy, which is why I collect personal information only for the following purposes:
I collect personal information about my individual clients for the purposes of providing professional copywriting services. Usually the scope of service is set out in detail in written communications with the client.
As part of my services, these purposes include sending emails, SMS, and other communications related to my copywriting services, helping you engage your audience, and providing guidance where appropriate.
I may also collect information necessary to coordinate with other service providers or manage client relationships. This information is only used for these purposes.
If instructed by you, I may add individual client names and contact details to my client database to send materials relating to my general services. If a client prefers that I do not send this type of material, they can let me know in writing and their contact details will not be used in this fashion.
When do I disclose personal information?
There are a variety of circumstances where I may need to disclose personal information about my clients. Generally, I only disclose personal information of clients as instructed by them. There are, however, a number of exceptions for disclosure that may be made without consent:
As required by applicable law (court order, investigation of suspected fraud).
To defend myself in proceedings arising from statements or opinions issued in the course of my services.
To service providers in circumstances where I remain in control of the information (e.g., IT outsourcing).
How do I protect your personal information?
To protect your personal information, Kale Mollon Copywriting:
Will not collect, use, or disclose your personal information for any purpose other than those identified above, except with your further consent;
Will protect your personal information with appropriate security safeguards;
Will protect the confidentiality of your personal information when dealing with other organizations;
Will strive to keep your personal information accurate and up to date; and
Will honour any request you may make for access to your personal information.
What are your choices?
I would like to have your consent to continue to collect, use, and disclose your personal information for the purposes identified above. However, you have choices and can refuse or withdraw your consent as follows:
You may refuse to provide your personal information to me.
You may also withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions and reasonable notice.
However, in either case, this may limit my ability to serve you.

THE KALE MOLLON COPYWRITING PRIVACY CODE
Introduction
At Kale Mollon Copywriting, respecting privacy is an important part of my commitment to my clients. That is why I have developed The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code. It is a statement of principles and guidelines regarding the minimum requirements for the protection of personal information provided by me to my clients. The objective of The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code is to promote responsible and transparent personal information management practices in a manner consistent with the provisions of the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (Canada).
I will continue to review The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code to make sure that it is relevant and remains current with changing standards, technologies, and laws.
Summary of Principles
Principle 1 - Accountability
I am responsible for personal information under my control and shall designate one or more persons (or myself) accountable for compliance with the following principles.
Principle 2 - Identifying Purposes for Collection of Personal Information
I shall identify the purposes for which personal information is collected at or before the time the information is collected.
Principle 3 - Obtaining Consent
The knowledge and consent of a client are required for the collection, use, or disclosure of personal information, except where inappropriate.
Principle 4 - Limiting Collection
I shall limit the collection of personal information to that which is necessary for the purposes identified and shall collect personal information by fair and lawful means.
Principle 5 - Limiting Use, Disclosure, and Retention
I shall not use or disclose personal information for purposes other than those for which it was collected, except with consent or as required by law. I shall retain personal information only as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.
Principle 6 - Accuracy
Personal information shall be as accurate, complete, and up-to-date as necessary for the purposes for which it is to be used.
Principle 7 - Security Safeguards
I shall protect personal information by security safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information.
Principle 8 - Openness
I shall make readily available to clients specific information about my policies and procedures relating to the management of personal information.
Principle 9 - Client Access
Upon request, I shall inform a client of the existence, use, and disclosure of his or her personal information and shall give the individual access to that information. A client shall be able to challenge the accuracy and completeness of the information and have it amended as appropriate.
Principle 10 - Challenging Compliance
A client shall be able to address a challenge concerning compliance with the above principles to the designated person accountable for compliance with The Kale Mollon Copywriting Privacy Code.
